The province of Salzburg is one of 9 provinces within Austria. Salzburg is sub divided into five political districts. 

These are namely,  Flachgau, Tennengau, Pongau, Pinzgau and Lungau. Approx. 520 000 people live in the province of Salzburg and approx 145.000 of those, in the city of Salzburg.

The Salzburg region is one of the most famous tourist regions within Europe. In the winter months, Salzburg is a Paradise for winter sports. A lot of well known ski-resorts are located within the Salzburg region. In Summer the region transforms itself into a popular hiking area.

The Salzburger Festspiele (Salzburger festival) is also World famous. This takes place at Easter and during the month of August.  Prominent figures from the cultural and economic fields, visit this spectacle annually. 

The Hotel Gasthof Zehenthof is located in the Salzburg region, approx 45 kilometres - South of the Festival  city of Salzburg. It lies between Pfarrwerfen and Werfenweng. Both regions are situated within close proximity to Landgasthof Zehenthof and are easily reachable.
